Car Insurance Daihatsu (Car Insurance). I lost the title to my car, how do I get a new one?I lost the title to my car, how do I get a new one? I had my car insured for a month, but had to take it off the policy when it wouldn't run anymore. I need the title to get insurance back on it, but I can't find it anywhere...How do I get a new one? Can they just see that I DID have the title when I registered it the first time? Have you ever heard of the DMV. I believe they issue things like tags, titles, etc. Not only will they tell you what to do, but for a fee they will issue you another title. That is what the DMV is for. Go to where you got your car tags and apply for a lost title Go to your secretary of state or department of motor vehicle office and request a copy. Should cost you somewhere near $20.00 or so. It doesn't happen everyday just some days. Well yesterday the sports light lit up for about 2 seconds (it didn't flash as usual it just stayed lit ) until I took my foot off the gas and the light went out and it didn't come back on for the rest of the day. When the light stayed lit it felt as if the car wasn't accelerating at all at the time the light was on and when the light went off it accelerated normally. Now this doesn't happen when the sports light is flashing. Has anyone experienced this problem before or know what it could be? It's my only car and at this moment I don't have to money to get a new one so I have to patch things up as long as I can. Please help thanks! car insurance. Daihatsu . Car Painting for BeginnersPainting a car at home can be difficult. All the chrome and windows have to be either removed or taped off. The appropriate supplies must be procured and a clean area has to be devised. If you are new to painting with a spray gun, it may be advisable to practice on either old scrap parts or another material. This will help you to learn control and prevent ruining the paint job completely. Clean Room Any dirt in the air or area around the car can be caught in the paint and cause a dull or dirty appearance on the car. This can make the car paint job appear unprofessional. It is important to use a clean, well-ventilated area to paint the car. Because paint will be present in the air around you, it is also important to use a respirator to prevent the paint from contaminating your lungs. Car Prep Before painting a car, you must prep the car. This includes smoothing out any bumps, runs or inconsistencies in the car's body. Any rust areas must be removed, filled in with compound, and sanded smooth. The compound can be found in auto stores. If there are scratches, the area around the scratch should be sanded smooth. Any inconsistencies in the car's body will translate to an inconsistency in the paint job, resulting in an unprofessional job. Paint System While it will be more expensive than purchasing bargain primers and paints, purchasing a paint system is advisable. It will ensure that all the paint components work well with each other. This includes the primer, the paint and the application process. This can be rather expensive, but it is necessary to ensure a professional paint job. A mixing and matching of paint products can cause the paint not to bond to the primer and cause additional problems with the application process. Purchase auto paint that is an acrylic urethane single stage paint, which is the easiest and most modern paint to use. Vehicle Disassembly Before painting the vehicle, disassemble it as much as possible. This means removing the bumper, the lights, door handles, body moldings, antennas and mirrors. If these items need painting, paint them while they are off the vehicle, rather than trying to paint them while they are attached to the car. Tape off the windows and other areas of the car that could not be removed but that do not need painting. Painting Painting a full-size car can be very frustrating for a beginning, but it can be possible. It is important that while painting the car steady movements are used and the spray is consistent. Be sure to avoid creating paint runs or drips; they can be easily seen when the vehicle is dry. Allow each layer of paint to dry before beginning a new layer of paint. Apply as many layers of paint as specified by your paint system, do not go below the number of layers specified because it may not be enough to completely cover the vehicle once dry. Apply a top/clear coat once the final layer of paint is dry. Allow this layer to completely dry, then wax the paint to ensure the safety and shine of the car.
Daihatsu . How to Paint My Car at HomePaint is an important part of a car's surface. The paint on a car provides an attractive appearance, and protects the car's body from rust or damage. If the paint fades or becomes damaged, it is necessary to add a fresh paint job to protect the car's body from the weather. While painting a car may sound like a complicated task, any person with the right tools can apply a fresh coat of paint. Difficulty:Moderately Challenging Instructions Things You'll Need Paint Primer Paint gun Air compressor Stir sticks Body putty Sandpaper Mask Gloves Soap Water Step by Step : 1 Purchase the paint, primer and necessary tools to paint your car. Visit an automotive paint store to get paint specifically designed for automotive applications. You can paint the car the original color, or choose a new color. Choose a paint with the clear enamel mixed in, so you do not have to add an extra clear coat layer. 2 Repair any imperfections in the car. Use a dent-pulling tool to remove small dents. Apply Bondo or bgody putty filler to the car's body to fill scratches or small dents, and sand any rust spots with 100 grit sandpaper. Sand all putty until it blends in with the car's body. Use 100 grit sandpaper to sand the body filler material. 3 Wash the car thoroughly with car wash soap and water. Remove all traces of dust, dirt, or grease. Dry the car with a soft cotton towel. 4 Sand the entire car by using 400 grit sandpaper. Use a sanding machine, or a sanding block to sand it evenly. This will provide a proper surface for primer and paint adhesion. Wipe the sanding dust from the car using a damp towel. 5 Use masking tape and masking paper to protect all areas of the car from paint. Cover the windshield, wheels, emblems, trim, and more. Make sure all areas exposed are the areas you plan to paint. 6 Prime the car using an automotive spraying tool. Pour the primer into the paint gun, turn on the air compressor, and spray the primer in a left-to-right motion. Use a steady hand and hold the gun approximately 10 inches away from the car while spraying. 7 Sand the primer coat when it has dried thoroughly. Use 400 grit sandpaper to score the primer so the paint can adhere to the surface. Wipe the entire car with a damp towel to remove sanding dust. 8 Spray the garage floor or pavement with a water hose to wet any dirt or debris. Make sure there are no bugs or debris in the area. Mix the paint using a stir stick and pour it into the paint gun. Use a painting screen to remove large paint chunks when pouring. Place the lid on the paint gun, and turn on the air compressor. 9 Paint the vehicle using broad strokes from left to right. Distance your paint gun approximately ten inches away from the car at all times. Release the paint trigger at the edges when painting to avoid drips at the edge. Add another coat if necessary using the same steps. Allow the paint to dry before driving. Tips & Warnings If painting outside, avoid windy days or direct sunlight areas, as this may affect the paint spray or drying time. Wear a mask when painting to avoid inhaling paint fumes. *8. Apply the paint, covering the surface of the spot completely, working inward from the edges. If you're painting a scratch or a very small area, you can cut down the brush or use a matchstick or toothpick instead. The paint should be no thicker than the surrounding surface or it will show, run, bubble, or peel off. 9. Wait several days for everything to dry completely, and then polish the car to blend in the painted area and bring everything to a high gloss. 10. Give the car a coat of wax or polymer to protect your hard work. Chapter 23 has instructions for polishing and waxing. 1085

If the interior or trunk gets wet when you wash the car or when it rains, use a garden hose to locate the areas on the weather-stripping that have been letting the water in. If the car windows whistle when you drive with them closed, check the weather-stripping for the cause of the sound effects. (If you notice leaks under the car, see Chapter 20 for ways to find the source and end the problem.) Daihatsu . Your car when is hot hard to start?
Mercury Capri. * If the weather-stripping is old, dried, cracked, or worn, you can probably buy a whole new piece designed for your vehicle's year, make, and model at your dealer's service department. To install new weather-stripping, follow these steps: 1. Check to see whether the new weather-stripping is the same as the old piece you're replacing. The piece should be the same shape and thickness and should have holes, channels, and rubber studs on the inner side that match the ones on the original. 2. Remove any screws and gently peel off the old weather-stripping, prying any rubber studs out of the holes they're inserted in without damaging the paint or scratching the metal window trim. If the weather-stripping is hard to remove, spray weather-stripping remover around the area and wait until the adhesive softens before continuing. 3. Use weather-stripping remover to remove any old adhesive that remains on the frame after the seal is gone. 4. Insert the new weather-stripping into the frame to make sure that it fits the holes and contours of the frame. Then gently remove it. Daihatsu . Make sure that the new weather-stripping is clean. You can rinse it off and dry it thoroughly or use fine sandpaper to remove any unauthorized bumps and rough spots. 6. Apply weather-stripping adhesive (H comes in a tube) sparingly to the strip and to the surface of the frame. You don't want the adhesive to squish out the sides because if it gets on anything, it may become permanently affixed to the surface. (Back to the weather-stripping remover!)
